Why the bench is growing
Windsor Drake takes a deliberately limited number of sell-side engagements each year, and demand for that model has grown faster than the bench that carries it. The choice was to lower the bar, decline the right mandates, or add a small number of senior people. We are doing the third.
Expansion here does not mean volume. The model stays exactly what clients engage us for: senior-led execution on every mandate, a limited engagement load, and research-driven positioning in the sectors we cover. Senior advisors extend that model. They do not dilute it.
What a senior advisor does here
A senior advisor at Windsor Drake runs live sell-side mandates end to end: positioning, buyer strategy, competitive process management, negotiation, and counsel to the founder across the life of the transaction. Analysts support the work and the firm’s quarterly research program backs it, but the deal is yours to run and the client relationship is yours to hold.
There are no layers here. The advisor who takes the engagement is the advisor in the room, on the calls, and across the table. That is the promise the firm makes to founders, and senior advisors are the people who keep it.
The bar
A record of closed transactions
A decade or more of deal work in M&A advisory, corporate development, or private equity, with transactions you led personally and can speak to in detail: process design, buyer behavior, negotiation, outcome.
Sector depth
Standing in the markets we cover: fintech, B2B SaaS, cybersecurity, and AI software, or the adjacent verticals where our research program is expanding coverage.
Founder-facing judgment
The ability to sit across from a founder as a peer through the most consequential transaction of their life. Discretion is absolute, here and everywhere.
The people we are looking for are usually running deals somewhere else right now. That is the point.
What this is not
This is not a job board posting and not a training seat. We do not run volume recruiting, we do not engage external recruiters, and unsolicited third-party profiles are not accepted. The bench expands by a small number of affiliations, formed after direct conversations with Jeff Barrington, the firm’s Managing Director.
Compensation is structured around mandate economics and discussed directly. We do not publish terms.
How a conversation starts
- A confidential noteSend a short note through our inquiry form and reference senior advisory. A few specific sentences on the sectors you know, the transactions you have led, and your current commitments. Not a resume dump.
- A direct conversationA candid discussion with the Managing Director about your record, our mandate flow, and whether the fit is real on both sides.
- Deal-level depthWe go deep on transactions you have run: process design, judgment under pressure, and how you carry a founder when the deal turns difficult. Discreet references follow.
- A deliberate affiliationArrangements are structured individually. What never varies is the standard: senior responsibility for live mandates and absolute confidentiality.
